How much dirt does the system collect?

The amount and type of dirt naturally depends heavily on the respective conditions. The results can vary depending on the industrial truck, tyre size, shoe profile, installation location or industry.
The dirt analyses of some customers from Germany and abroad illustrate how the system works under different conditions.

6.7 KG LESS DIRT IN 12 WEEKS

  • The industry: Automotive / electronics
  • The initial situation: A temporary construction site was created in the company due to restructuring. As series production had to continue in parallel with the renovation, a solution was needed to protect production from construction site dirt.
  • The model: b55 3x4 above ground / with ramps
  • The result: For the first four weeks, the amount of dirt collected was weighed every week. The frequency of emptying was then adjusted so that an evaluation was carried out after 7 and 12 weeks. In total, the cleaning field collected 6.7 kilograms of dirt over the 12 weeks. This amount was easily removed from the trays and did not end up in production.

Period Amount of dirt

16 KG LESS DIRT IN 18 DAYS

  • The industry: Automotive
  • The initial situation: The ProfilGate® cleaning system was installed internally in a busy area where 300 passes or transitions take place per day.
  • The model: b55 3x3 above ground / with ramps
  • The result: After the test period of 18 days, the dirt collection trays were vacuumed out once. The collected dirt weighed 16 kg. The trays that were driven over first had a slightly higher proportion of dirt than the last ones.
The graph shows a comparison of the amount of dirt in the individual fields.

44 KG LESS DIRT IN 10 WEEKS

  • The sector: Automotive
  • The initial situation: The cleaning system is located in the driving area at the empties discharge point.
  • The model: b55 6x2 above ground / with ramps
  • The result: Every second week, the dirt was removed from the tubs and weighed. It should be noted that one shift was cancelled in the first two weeks and extra shifts were worked in the last two weeks. This explains the greater difference in the amount of dirt. In the final report, it was also calculated that with a constant amount of dirt of approx. 4.4 kg per week, the system would collect 220 kg of dirt per year. It was also emphasised at this point that this would make a long-term contribution to technical cleanliness.

1.9 KG LESS DIRT AFTER 5 WEEKS-

  • The industry: Automotive
  • The initial situation: The cleaning field was installed in an airlock from the outdoor area into the production hall. During the test period, a total of approx. 10,000 passes were made by trailer trains and forklifts. The weather was predominantly dry during the five weeks.
  • The model: b55 4x5 above ground / with ramps
  • The result: The field was cleaned once after five weeks. In the process, 1.9 kg of dirt was collected. The diagram shows how much dirt was collected per field. The colour scheme illustrates how the amount of dirt decreases in the direction of travel.

40.4 KG LESS DIRT AFTER APPROX. 27 WEEKS

  • The sector: Automotive
  • The initial situation: The field was installed in an airlock from outside to inside. It provides access to production.
  • The model: b55 4x6 at ground level
  • The result: At the first emptying after approx. one month, the system had already collected 4.3 kg of dirt. The next emptying only took place 3 months later. This time, 18.6 kg was removed. After a further 3 ½ months, 17.5 kg were removed. Over a period of 7 ½ months, this results in a good 40 kg of dirt that could not enter the building.

22.2 KG LESS DIRT AFTER 13 WEEKS

  • The sector: Automotive
  • The initial situation: The cleaning field was installed in a gate lock. During the entire test period, approx. 294,000 passes were made by forklifts and tugger trains.
  • The model: b65 4x7 at ground level
  • The result: The dirt collection trays were emptied for the first time after three weeks. At this point, 7.8 kg of dirt had already fallen through the gratings into the trays. The following two emptyings took place 5 weeks apart. Both analyses resulted in 7.2 kg of dirt remaining in the system. This results in a total quantity of a good 22 kg of dirt that could not get through the gate into sensitive areas.

PeriodAmount of dirt

530 grams less dirt in 4 weeks

  • The sector: Pharmaceuticals
  • The initial situation: The cleaning system was installed internally in the transport route between the warehouse and the packaging room. It was passed by forklift trucks and pallet trucks. The corridor in which ProfilGate® is installed is located near the airlock and is a very clean area.
  • The model: b55 3x3 above ground / with ramps
  • The result: The result of the first emptying after four weeks was 530 g of dirt that had collected in the system. It contained sand, soil, wood shavings, staples, screws, pins and even pieces of chewing gum packaging.
The requirements for cleanliness and purity are extremely high in the area of medical products and medicines. Therefore, 530 g of contaminants over 4 weeks is a very good quantity for this sector.

11.6 kg less dirt in 13 weeks

  • The sector: Automotive
  • The initial situation: The ProfilGate® cleaning field was installed in the building in an airlock entrance from the outside to the inside. The ground vehicles that regularly pass through it are tractors, forklifts and trailers.
  • The model: b65 4x4 above ground / with ramps
  • The result: The system was emptied every week. During this time, between 360 g and 2.4 kg were collected. The evaluation also includes the weather conditions, so that conclusions can be drawn as to the reason for the different results. In the final report, it was also noted positively that there was a recognisable reduction in the amount of dirt ingress up to the last field. In addition, the entry of moisture into the hall is slowed down by the grates, so that puddles no longer form.
