Once installed, it works for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You have no ongoing energy costs. The dirt collection tray should only be emptied and cleaned at intervals of several weeks or months. After approx. 500,000 passes, which usually equates to several years of use, a new set of brush strips will immediately restore the full cleaning effect, while all other components of the system continue to be used and do not need to be replaced.
